An infinitive phrase is a group of words that uses an infinitive to verb. An infinitive is a verbal a word that expresses action; so, an infinitive phrase has the same role of expressing action in a sentence. An infinitive phrase is just a part of a sentence, working like a noun, adjective, or adverb.

 

मैं सिर्फ आपको अपने दिल की सच्चाई बता रहा था |

I was just trying to tell you the truth that's in my heart.

मेरे पापा ने मुझे घर से निकाल दिया |

My father banished me from his home.

उसका कुछ सामान मेरे पास है |

I had some of his belonging with me.

अगर तुम late हुए तो मैं चली जाउंगी |

If you're late, I'll leave.

 

The infinitive is the base form of a verb. In English, when we talk about the infinitive we are usually referring to the present infinitive, which is the most common. There are, however, four other forms of the infinititive: the perfect infinitive, the perfect continuous infinitive, the continuous infinitive,  the passive infinitive.

 

माफ़ करियेगा यह wrong number हैं |

I am sorry, this is a wrong number.

मुझे जो देखना था मैंने देख लिया |

I saw what I had to.

कुछ चाहिए तुम्हे ?

जब कमल इतना जोर दे रहा है तो कर दिए जैसा वह कह रहा है |

There are different types of infinitive in English. The most common is the ato doa form of the verb, as in aI want to study Englisha, which we use after many verbs.. Thereas also the abare infinitivea infinitive without atoa which we use after modal verbs, other auxiliary verbs, or certain other verbs in the active voice, such as make or let.. Other types of infinitive are the continuous

 

मेरी चिंता मत करो | मैं जैसा हूँ ठीक हूँ |

Don't worry about me. I'm fine, just the way I am.

तुम कब आये ?

when did you come?

तुम चस्मा क्यों नहीं पहनते ?

Why don't you wear glasses?

बहुत कुछ है जो मैं तुमसे कहना चाहता हूँ |

An infinitive usually begins with the word atoa and is followed by the base form of a verb the simple form of the verb that you would find in the dictionary.

कल पुलिस स्टेशन आ जाना |

Come and see me at the police station tomorrow.
